An accomplished Business Improvement professional with Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification and extensive change related experience gained in a range of highly regulated industries encompassing Aerospace, Defence, Public Sector, Insurance, Banking and other financial services. Proven expertise in using lean and six sigma methodologies to identify the key issues and concepts vital to success and leading project teams to achieve agreed outcomes and deliver tangible bottom line results.

Originally graduated from the University of Sheffield with an MEng in Materials Science and Engineering in 1998 and joined Rolls-Royce in Derby on their Graduate Training Scheme. Progressed through various roles within the company rising from Manufacturing Engineer to Senior Supplier Development Leader. Career to date has included both contract and freelance roles with various reputable institutions encompassing Principal Supplier Development Engineer at Racal Acoustics, Operations Excellence Consultant with Lloyds Banking Group, Continuous Improvement Manager at the Bank of England and Senior Consultant at Baringa Partners.

Worked as a Business Improvement Consultant under Abernethy Consulting, undertaking various Process Consulting, Lean Risk and Six Sigma projects on behalf of various clients including AXA-PPP Healthcare, Virgin Money and Nationwide. Currently working as an independent Consultant undertaking various OpEx and process engineering projects, with more recent clients including Siemens Managed Services and AXA XL.

Skilled in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques to deliver improvements. Offering excellent stakeholder management skills, establishing strong ongoing networks and relationships with the entire range of key stakeholders. Analytical and methodical, with an ability to assimilate and interpret complex data on key issues, to identify root causes and gain in-depth understanding of complex issues. An inspirational manager and team leader with experience of managing and mentoring internal teams including training, task allocation and monitoring KPIs. Excellent intercultural skills with an international mindset, and an ability to interact effectively with people at all levels, developed through experience of dealing with a diverse global clientele and extensive international travel. A respected subject matter expert, with an established reputation within the company for integrity and trust, serving as the go-to person for providing invaluable insight to colleagues and senior management to aid strategic decision making.
